Why one? i use 2 because of the heavy clutch...

he means for more power n and out of turns and if u are n 1st and u go 2 shit up but u dont get a full shift u hit neatureal and if u hit neatureal u nose dive and u wont clear it u mite case

He's holding the brake because hes preventing the bike from running straight into the "gate" while he's waiting for it to go down.
just think about it for a while, then you'll probably understand.
