  • I did NOT know you had a Lionel collection. Looks like it's all recent, but quite a lineup! I collected mine from about age 7 thru 16. That dates them 1951 - 1960. My prized engine is the Berkshire, begged all year and got it for Xmas when I was 10, in 1954. Do the math. It's 57 years old. In those days they had "Magnetraction," and that engine will pull anything anywhere. It's a powerhouse. Haven't run it for about 10 years. I need to put together some track and power it up.

  • @anmoose The GP9 on the top rail has Magnetraction & a Pullmor motor, Its a 90's engine with sounds & remote control. I had to clean the track with a Scotch Bright pad due to our climate. The Berkshire is a MTH. Your Berk's Pullmor will need the the brush plate cleaned & a lube job

  • Hey JB, That's a fine looking train! My favorite train was back in the 1940's called the Golden Rocket! Hank Snow sang a song about the train! If I'm not mistaken I think the singer Neil Young owned the Lionel train company at one time! Have a good friend that retired from the railroad and his train set is his entire triple car garage. He built an entire city throughout the years one piece at a time! It's amazing! Take Care!

  • Sweet Trains!

  • @anmoose Good call JB, I had a Marx set as a kid & it would derail constantly. Had an old American Flyer set from Western Auto too in the 60's

  • @haftafish8780,

Being an oldster from that era, just a minor correction. The brand was Marx.

  • Well, JB,

that gray engine looks like a 4-6-2 Pacific. UP bought engines from Baldwin in Philadelphia or Alco in Schenectady, NY. I'm glad to see you running the trains. I'm more of an HO guy, but I do have a K-Line O gauge set. I believe K-Line is still manufacturing trains.

    Enjoying the cooking videos, too.

    Merry Christmas!

  • dang jb, i still both of my train sets from my childhood, one is way older than me and is the h.o. scale like yours (if i said that part right), and the other is the smaller scale tracks i got in in 1978 i have lots of track, and lots of trains and cars, my favorite engine was a chelsea systems ?i think is how you spell it. great video !!

  • Would love to get me a good quality train set but here in the uk they are expensive as hell. cool video jb, merry christmas to you and the family.
