"Rediscovering China", a feature program of the English Service of China Central Television is the only weekly program on China to explore contemporary Chinese culture and social changes totally through foreigners eyes. All hosts on the show come from non-Chinese backgrounds..."
I am a big fan of CCTV9 in China and I highly recommend this program -specially -to have a closer idea that what is happening in Beijing and China during these days before the Olympics 2008...
for more videos in English about China just google CCTV China and you will find a lot of footage -documentaries and educational programs in their main website ...cheers! (
I applied too but got denied, but it's not because the Beijing Olympic is less organised...it's because China has 1.6 billion people and the amount of people who are aplying for volunteering is over-whelming. you won't see half filled stadiums in China since the ticket sale was higher than 2004 and you won't see empty sits waiting there for less qualified volunteers like you and me.

Well, looks and sounds nice everything. But international applicants have not been contacted by BOCOg so far and if you call the callcentre, noone is able to help you there. The Athens 2004, the Torino 2006 and the Vancouver 2010 Volunteer programes were/ are better organised.
