  • Not really essential oil but infused oil. Making essential oil requires no other oil, but distillation and then seperation of the water from the pure grapefruit oil made just from the skin.

  • @12quillemall5321 how do u separate the water from the distiller oil ? thanks

  • what happens if you dont dry out the zest??

  • can this be used for making candles?

  • This is infusing the flavor into a carrier just like putting garlic in olive oil. To get grapefruit oil I'd use a potato peeler to remove the skin. Then in a blender use distilled water to blend it, then send it through a transducer such as an ultrasonic cleaner to futher breakdown the cell wall structure. Then distill the oil out.o You could use expression then separate the oil water mix, that's what they do with oil produced from algae.

  • wow thank you for sharing. its very good video.

can i use olive oil to mix with the grapefruit skin .

can i use olive oil to mix with the grapefruit skin .

  • Can I use Lemon Zest and mix with Glycerin? If I keep those in a dark bottle, does it mean that I can use it as aromatherapy essential oil? And put it in a steam diffuser?

  • @BeaverBoi84 using grape seed oil, almond oil, or even extra virgin olive oil are cheap ways to dilute things like this. Bear in mind though that extra virgin olive oil has a shelf life of about 6 months, almond oil and grape seed are good for about 8-10 months.

  • I enjoy these videos but you should not call these kind of oils essential. When you use a carrier oil the oil is not essential. It is a mixed oil. Essential oil - I think - is oil that is only from the plant itself.
