1996 Chevy Monte Carlo - L67 Swap (3800 Series II V6)
Major mods: 2.3L Whipple, DPP headers, ZZP S4 heads, IS3 blower cam, 1.7:1 aluminum roller rockers, 9.5:1 forged pistons, prep'd bottom end.
Mods coming soon: YT W/A Intercooler, new TB + adaptor, DP nitrous

About the vid: this is a little older video we took just after we put the whipple on, and we had a couple issues that we were trying to fix, so this is a chopped down version of the original video that only shows the stuff worth watching. I have since fixed the issues, and found solutions to others (ie replacing the old lower adaptor with the YT IC).

I'll get another vid of it running once it warms up again, and I get the new mods done to it.

  • Nice video, which muffler do you have on it in this video?

  • @Buickonthedragstrip Not sure on the exact model #- we tried multiple mufflers from various brands that day to get the quietest thing we could to keep from getting pulled over- plus it was like 4 or 5 years ago, so they may not even sell the same one anymore. The one that looks most similar from their website is the #14278, but I could be wrong...

  • Nice monte man hopping to swap my 3400 in my 97 monte with a 3800 series 2

  • Nice build buds....cam sounds sick

  • oh... my... GOD this thing sounds amazing. Cant wait till I get my heads, cam, rockers, exhaust ect and make it sound like this.

  • I have to admit, that thing is crazy... never seen anyone do this type of setup with the blower.. Sounds really good too... thats the way a v6 should sound. Im hoping to get that out of my Thunderbird SC 3.8 with the pair of MAC flowpaths i got.

  • jaw dropping. very nice dude very nice super clean to 10 outta 10. so how much did the engine build cost

  • @SirBoxer03 I won't ever sell it; she was my first car, and I've got other cars for daily drivers that I would get rid of first. On top of that, I know I'd lose too much money in the mods even doing a demod sale first, that it just wouldn't be worth it. I definitely never built the car with the intent on making money on a resale, that's for sure.

  • @bumpin96monte would you ever sell it? And hypothetically let's say you were going to sell it for whatever reason, cuz you needed the money or w/e...

How much would you sell it for?

  • @xtreme01hac10docter Thanks; I've never heard of Motertopia though- must've been someone else
