We need to build communities of people who care about their neighbours, not the fake communities we presently have of people who simply live next door to each other!

I agree with you totally about people being able to live their lives in a way that works for them and sharing that lifestyle with others ... but only UNTIL that lifestyle starts impacting on other people in a negative way. And that is precisely the point I was making - for the greater good of the local community, for my culture, my country, my language - these people are sticking one more nail in the coffin of sustainability.

Ok. Where is this place and when can I move in? I cannot put into words how much I'd like to live differently. Right now I'm at Uni in Sydney (Aus) and I HATE it! I can't seem to find anything like this here. We are so far behind and places that do open are for the over 50's for some reason . :( I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing YouTube vids like these and seeing I'm not alone in the desire to live life more in balance.

@jenhughes58 It's not always about that. Often it's about people who want to live their lives, like everyone else does, in a way that works for them, and finding people to share that with. For many it's more about balance. All people live differently and that's all this stuff is usually about.

If you are still struggling with buying the land, look into "adverse possession" in your state/country.

It is still possible in the US, so should be else where.

Sorry - but I really hate these people and their so called notions of sustainability. Irrespective of their eco lifestyle, the most important issue for me is the sustainability of the Welsh language and culture and the sustainability of the local economic infrastructure. Not one of these people, in any of the videos has mentioned learning the language. We need English hippies like we need a hole in the head.
