@MixxTraxx That's why it's still my hope that the authorities (as well as the individuals who depend on the bridge) will raise enough money to rebuild this thing. Because the bridge carries two interstate highways, it's more the responsibility of the federal government than the state (which is in worse shape financially by comparison to the feds) to aide its repair.

@CircleCityEric well,,, I should be a little more specific,, this bridge (Tappan Zee) is outdated and ready to collapse at any given moment,, it was built with the assumption that it would last about 50 years,, and its 50 years expired recently,, so I would much rather be stuck in GW traffic for the 1 hour than go over the TZ monster
