The Blessed Virgin Mary

This is a short montage from the British channel ITV1 titled 'The Muslim Jesus'. the clip shows the Islamic interpretation of, Jesus Christ's mother, the Virgin Mary. There is a chapter in the Holy Quran named 'Mary'. Muslims believe that Mary was one of the most pious women ever.

the clip has an excerpt from the Iranian film 'the blessed Saint Mary', which was writen by shaikh Mohammad Saeed Bahmanpour (he is a lecturer at the Islamic College for Advanced Studies in Willesden Green. it is quite exceptional and brilliantly made.

Maryam is the Arabic for Mary, the Quran reveals a lot about the miraculous birth of Jesus (pbuh). The Quran also has many verses related to Jesus. Esa or Isa is the Arabic for Jesus.

If one respects it it doesnt mean they have to believe in it. I respect that Islam believes that MAry gave birth near a tree and jesus spoke at birth but it doesnt mean i believe the islamic view. I hope that Mary can bring Islam and Christanity together and make friends and thanks for the comment may God bless you,

We do not differ about Joseph's important role, yes he had a part to play, but was he with the Virgin Mary at Christ's birth?

I read Matthew 1:18-25 regarding the Birth of Jesus, may the blessings of God be upon him, and it states that 'but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit' (18) and 'But he (Joseph) had no union with her until she gave birth to a son' (25)

so the Virgin Mary was alone when she conceived.

Just read it. We differ on many things concerning her life... but we both agree that she was very holy.

Catholics believe she was without sin and gave birth to the Son of God, and that's a substantial difference. We don't believe He was a prophet, but the "Word made flesh."

I am very happy that islam honours mary like Roman Catholics but i pray that Islam can respect the Christan view on Mary? and Catholic Viwe eg (birth in a stable, joseph spouse of mary, and the assumpton)
