Two flat tires later, Ryan finally has a chance to review the 2009 Suzuki SX4 Sport Sedan. How does it compare to the 2009 Honda Fit Sport we had on the show just a few weeks ago?

I absolutely fell in love with this car when i went car shopping yesterday. GPS is amazing, considering i got myself lost on the test drive! haha I am a single mom of an 8 month old, in college full time and working full time, plus in the military... If i can afford this anyone can!! Handling is great and the gas mileage is good as well... I was driving an Acura and I am surprisingly glad ive gone the suzuki route! I recommend this car!! Very spacious! ...and dependable (From what ive heard!!)
Suzuki needs to seriously upgrade the paint quality. Do not buy one of these without the hood guard. I bought one and in 2 weeks I had more chips on the hood than I have on my 2001 XL-7. Otherwise, great vehicle, surprisingly nimble and quick. The head room is plentiful, back seats a little anorexic in leg room. I'm not tall but I kept bumping my head on a lancer I was thinking about. This vehicle will not disappoint one bit. I like the fact that I don't see too many on the road. Unique.
If you look closely after he opens the hood, when he goes to lift the hood perch stick itself, he purposely reaches back to where the hood perch is mounted into the fender wall... and yanks it out intentionaly, when that is not supposed to be where you're supposed to pull up on it. He should have reached for the front of it which is towards the front bumber, not back towads the windshield. The only thing you can surmise is that he did this intentionally.
I think if people weren't stuck being an (insert popular automaker) fanboy/girl, they'd actually be surprised by this car (I know I was...I even bought one). Honestly, I don't think this car would last as long as a Fit or Yaris; but I had a LOT more fun test driving this car than any other.
Although the '09s aren't as chock full of standard features as the '08s, you still get more for your money than a similarly priced Fit, Versa, Mazda3, Mini, Lancer, Yaris, Caliber, any Scion, or Aveo.
The hood perch falling off was pretty damn funny. I've always wondered about this: Why is it that Suzuki makes very popular motorcycles but nobody wants their cars? Honda certainly doesn't have that problem.
My wife says it's too androgynous. I didn't think she knew that word.
