Why spend big bucks buying a pulk sled when you can build your own for a fraction of the price. This is a great way to go for hauling your extra gear for multi day trips or an over nighter. Pulls very easy on hard pack or ice. Slightly harder in powder snow. But still relatively easy compared to all that weight on your shoulders. Let your legs do the work instead of your spine :o)

  • Looks like a great setup.

  • @jolietjake1970 Thanks, although I do have a much better hitch system for it now. I show it on the sled update vid. I can switch it from this bigger sled to a smaller one too :o)

  • I just picked up one of these sleds and am glad to hear that it pulls well for a sizeable load. 55 pounds is a fair amount of stuff. I hammock camp, so I can't see having a canvas wall tent that probably weights 55 pounds alone. I also don't have a stove either. I've seen pictures where some have used 2 of those in tandem to haul more stuff. I think this sled can't be beat for its price.

  • @bwillan Yeah they're a pretty tough sled! This was more of a test. I wouldn't normally carry that much weight either :o) Wall tents are way more than 55lbs. my friend :o) More like 200 lbs...hehe! you pretty much need a snow machine to haul one of those!

  • nic polk, and that is a great price. compared to 600.00 dollars from some of the bigger companies

  • @fustratedfisher Thanks :o) The other vis has a much better hitch that can go onto both sleds!
