Caught this performance at Smith Street in Chinatown. Only realised it wasn't an ordinary lion dance troupe later on. Quite awesome, i say.

  • if all you could do is to slam the effort put in by quoting tradition, then it is time to reflect upon yourselves. this definitely appealed to more young people than normal ones, there are too many cases of tradition dying because it failed to re-invent itself or to keep up with times. I think this is just fantastic! so are my friends who are open to creative ideas and appreciate effort. not those who stay in their caves all day long.

  • anyone else that got sent by Humon?

  • @TheVklow While I don't like this very much, it's just not my style, I find your mildly racist remarks much more distasteful.

  • wtf is this.

  • Great!!! Mixing tradition with funkiness!

  • this is an example of why culture in spore is dead today. this makes a mockery of chinese tradition. the guai los should find something better to do.

  • @Endang07 BUT if it was for the new year or where it calls for the real traditional lion dance to be taken place, i believe its just right to follow the old ways ..Keeping up with the modern world is nessassary but respecting the tradition when its a need is something that i believe is just the right thing to do .. =)

  • Well i agree with the new generation that this is something to promote and attract the younger generation but i have to agree with the older generation that it does not reflects the old lion dance tradition .. Looking at another side , i see it as they are not disrespecting at any point nor mocking the chinese tradition but i guess having an interest in lion dance, they create this mixture..

  • Hah leave it to white people to insult Chinese culture. This is very very sad and insulting. two thumbs down.

  • I think this is wonderful! How creative are they! A marriage of the old and new and the east and west. The world is becoming borderless anyway - who says the lion dance cannot move on...

  • Creative and unusual. Good job! ;)

  • The people who dislikes this are old fags that can't accept a little change once in awhile.
