Another compilation with images of Louis XIV.

This time it's with Lully's 'prélude' from his masterpiece 'Armide'.

  • It's a fascinating video. I really enjoyed the wonderful music on the background. It makes me peaceful and it's a very emotional composition. I play Cello myself, that is why I respect this music so much. Thanks for the beautiful video.Louis XIV should be a great example for everyone of us.thank you

  • "Does the sun itself not have spots ? Louis XIV was a great king. It was he who raised France to the rank of a great power among the nations. Since Charlemagne*, is there a king of France we can compare to Louis XIV in every way ?"

NAPOLEON THE GREAT. (*Charlemagne ruled the Kingdom of the Franks from 768 to 814 AD)

  • @Laura123lalala Agreed! I am mezzo and I studied barocco arias and dances - it was great! Louis XIVwas a great man!

  • @Fuliginosus It`s the prelude of the Armide`s air "Enfin, il est en ma puissance" from Lully`s Armide. She appears by magic while Renaud sleeps, that`s why you can hear the wind machine.

  • I live LOUIS XIV. - he is really my favourite historical person...... :))

  • Qu'est-ce que c'est que cette horreur qu'il y a en fond sonore :s !

  • "Ah, 'tis the genius in me which has never yet been lacking!", Louis, after winning some battle.

  • The Composer is Lully from his work Armide, but it is truly wonderful isn't it?
