Life has never been a bed of roses for most Haitians. Certainly, life in Haiti today is worse than what it was under the Duvalier. Just like life was easier in Haiti before the Duvalier came to power. Most people fail to realize that Haiti is undergoing a precipitous race to the bottom where the excesses of yesterday excuse those of today and today's excesses will engender tomorrow's. If this trend continues, some people will have fond memories of today's hell as the good old days.
