William J Pomeroy, 92, left-wing revolutionary and leader of the Hukbalahap movement who was exiled to London in the early 1960s with his Filipina wife, Celia Mariano-Pomeroy, finally returns to his adopted country. Although American, he so loved the Philippines that he dedicated his life and works to it. Never pardoned by a President in life, in death he no longer needed a Presidential Pardon to have his ashes interred in Bulacan, in sight of the Sierra Madre mountains where he and Celia were captured in the 1950s. Celia, at 94, remains in a nursing home in London, unaware that her life-partner had gone back ahead to her beloved country.
