Wondering what all the commotion was about that led to Wheaton's technical? Here is the summary:

Midway through the 2nd half, Carwell is fouled while shooting. While the ball bounces on the rim, an Elmhurst player clearly touches the net, which by definition is "basket interference" and should've resulted in 2 points for Wheaton. No call is made, and the Wheaton coaching staff is given a Technical for arguing this rule.

Note: The same player who grabbed the net also shot the free throws, missing both. Possibly due to rope burn on his shooting hand.

Note 2: The outburst sparks a turnaround as Wheaton mounts a furious comeback in the final 10 minutes of the game to win 67-63.

  • Wheres the T?

  • It's not on this clip... but the ref calls the foul and the crowd and coaches scream for a goaltending call to count the bucket but don't get the call. The coach kicks a chair in frustration and then they T him up. The game was really close and Wheaton was in the middle of a comeback, so it was a pivotal no-call. Wheaton pulled off the comeback, possibly due to the missed call?
