She does not have mental problems. If you watch Teen Titans and see the Phantom of the Opera movie, it reminds you of Slade. Especially when Robin uncovers Slades mask and he has a skull for a face. Plus I bet Slade was bullied a lot when he was a kid, or he lost his family, or his family abandonned him like the Phantom. If you actually THINK about it, it makes sense. Got that yumyumgummygum?
