In this video I will be showing you how to download and convert fanfictions and manga for your Kindle. Let's face it: There is more you can do than just download books from the Kindle store. Those of us who like to read fanfictions and stay up to date with them also would like to read them like any other Kindle book. Using this method, you can take your fanfictions with you with this device (or really any major ebook reader).

I do not approve or disapprove of piracy of manga, however, I believe that you should have the right to have a digital copy of those that you have already bought. You can't bring stacks of manga with you when you are out and about, and society (at least in the US) does not see it more than a kid's comic genre. With a Kindle, you solve the bulk/size problem as well as retaining some priavcy.

---------------

There are two options with Amazon's Kindle (really three if you count the original one): Kindle 2 and the Kindle 2 DX. The DX is out of my price range at $489, but it provides a bigger screen to view manga on and a tad more storage. Reading manga IMO on the Kindle 2 in not bad. In this example I convert the first chapter of Dragonball which looks great. You might struggle with text size a bit on the smaller of the two.

We will use two programs: Fanfiction Downloader (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/Download-Managers/Fanfiction-Downloader.shtml) and Mangle (http://foosoft.net/mangle/).

Find your own material, but Fanfiction downloader will work with the following sites:

· fanfiction.net
· FanFicAuthors.net
· fanfiktion.de
· checkmated.com
· portkey.org
· adultfanfiction.net
· Animexx.de (test)
· Fictionalley.org (schnoogle, astronomy....)
· Fictionpress.com

I hope this is helpful in both getting you to get the most out of your Kindle and helping you decide to purchase.

Thanks.

  • would you pay for comics on the kindle if they were stupid cheap, like, 25 cents?

  • Yes. I don't mind paying the price for manga/comics as it is in stores. Unfortunately, the publishers have not released that many titles out for Kindle/Sony Store.

I wish Kindle would build in a feature to allow frame-by-frame viewing from specially formatted comics/manga. I could certainly see many people getting into legal e-book reading if they adjusted the price of a comic/manga to not include transport/material/printing costs. $5 for a manga book or $0.25-0.50 for a comic issue.
