The Letter I Song by Have Fun Teaching is a great way to learn all about the Letter I. Use this music video to teach and learn the alphabet, phonics, the Short Vowel I Sound, Long Vowel I Sound, Vocabulary Words with the Letter I, and Uppercase and Lowercase Letter I.

  • fly is written with y and not i

  • @oWilliamgois That is correct.

  • I usually like these videos. they have been very catchy and beneficial to my pre-K students who have caught on very quickly the letter and sound correspondence. However, this song disappoints. Im curious as to why you don't focus on songs that begin with I or even some words that even CONTAIN the letter I. The inclusion and focus of the word "Fly" confuses the students this is geared toward :(

  • @traysea77 I chose to use words with the vowel i in the middle of the word because most occurrences of the letter i in a word happen in the middle of a word. The insertion of the word "fly" is not intended to confuse children, but to expand their learning to understand that the letter y can also have the i sound. It also rhymes and flows well with the song. Sorry that you are disappointed.

  • @traysea77 I totally understand, thanks for your support :)

  • I was so disappointed with this video because all the others "start" with the letter, and this one uses it in the words like, "ride, bike, sit, pig, etc" I haven't watched any other vowel video, but the other letters are better.

  • @tmlw08 Hey there...sorry that you were disappointed with the vowel videos. I chose to use vocabulary words with the vowel sound in the middle of the word because that is where they are mostly seen and heard. Students learning these letter sounds will be more likely to see and hear words with short and long vowel sounds in the middle of words rather than at the beginning of words. Thanks again for your comment.

  • DON'T MIND THE CRITICISM. YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB! CAN'T PLEASE EVERYONE...

  • nice

  • I want this video on my W810 unit.

  • joseph misyfrd

  • @marcy033 I am wondering the same. I was listening to it with my son.He fell asleep half an hour ago and I am still here.

  • Very good idea to teach! ^^

  • @havefunteaching while I understand the flow, and nearly missed the inclusion of fly myself, I want to point out that the children do sing along to this song and make connections to Fly and I. Perhaps that word would have been suited for a Y song..... to point out that Y makes the "Yuh" sound as well as the I sound...? I will however keep listening to the rest of songs and videos with my class with the exclusion of this one.
