Kaustinen Katrilli or Night Quadrille (pt 1) at Helsinki Day, 2009, music by JPP

As part of a preview of the Kaustinen Folk Festival in a tent in a Helsinki park, JPP and Antti Savilampi showed off one of the classic events from Finland's oldest festival. After a half-hour of teaching, this Finnish style quadrille was danced for another 30 minutes, to American-style calling. This video is one time through the dance sequence. Further repetitions were done with the same opposite couple. The sets did not change. The dancers got better. The moves got a little fancier. The fun level grew. The music was fabulous.
