The Whedonverse: Joss Whedon Directs...

This video is in celebration of Joss Whedon as a director. I personally believe Joss is the best director on Television. Episodes such as The Body, Restless, Chosen, Hush, Serenity and Once More With Feeling have a cinematic scope that's lost on most TV. However, Joss' skill is always in reference to his writing (which is exceptional) yet I've read virtually nothing on his triumphs as a director. So I made this video to do my part for that since I think it needs to be said more; Joss Whedon is the best director on TV.

The only episodes used in this video are, obviously, the episodes Joss directed. So, in chronological order;

Joss is the greatest TV producer of all time—his overarching stories and characters are unparalleled, his writing for individual episodes is similarly in rarified air, and he's the only television director I'm aware of who cares about directing television as just as much of an art form as directing films. Joss showed how truly great TV can be—as entertainment and as art—in a way that no one else has accomplished before or since.
