it is much easier in a hockey stick because the player puts his weight on the stick when its on the ice. In lacrosse, the stick touches nothing but air, so making a flexible and durable stick is an extremely hard task.

i bought the alliance 85 and it was a great shaft but it only lasted me 4 games, now im here holding it in two pieces, but thank god there is a 60 day warranty i got with it
