Puh-leez Peope! Suggest you not listen to De Dannan. Clearly the ones who do not have a feel for Irish music are the ones who say "There's no more soul in that music than compassion in a policeman's heart." and bet you don't know any police officers either. These guys are the best of the best and always have been. Do you play?

Just saw the actual De Dannan in Chicago last weekend. The lineup was Mick Conneely, Derek Hickey, Brian McGrath, Alec Finn, Johnny McDonagh, and Eleanor Shanley. They were great. This just doesn't hold up.

So over all it's fair to say your opinion is similar to mine in that you "admit" that the bodhran playing "has absolutely no musicality in or sympathy towards the melody instruments and sensitivity towards the tunes which is an accompanist's first and foremost function" with his "going a bit overboard with the single triplets and triplet rolls" thus agreeing with the bones of my observation that I made over 8 months ago now???? - If you want real bodhran playing check out De Dannans new release
