His first half was some of the most stressful safety play I've seen. It picked up in the second half, but man that was rough.

I have to get some more video. He is really aggressive which can be a good thing but when your taking poor angles and missing tackles your going to get your team gashed

Stinking Buffalo. Phillip looks pretty good here taking good angles I don't know what you are smoking. Look at Shamarko Thomas and see bad angles. Buffalo had this guy at Buffalo and didn't get him.

This is an example of an inexperienced player facing a high-power offense with some stars who are making everyone look like a fool on the opposing defense.
Thomas needs to take better angles but coaching and experience are the best ways to take care of this sort of problem. He may not start at the beginning of the season but will soon enough,

If I watched this I would not draft him. So many bad angles & mised tackles. He got trucked at the end. He didn't break down & form tackle & he doesn't have any thump when he hits.

If you watch closely, you'll see that Oregon holds on almost EVERY play. PT is a consensus all-American. Fourth round pick by Washington is going to be SOD. PT will be a probowler within a couple of years.

He's a Safety, you don't require break neck speed just vision and willingness corners are a position of speed.

His 2nd half performance was better but thats not saying much. His 4.65 speed was exposed in this game

You just can't get ready for Duck speed when you play in the Mountain West. Thomas and the defense clearly seemed to step it up 2nd half and made adjustments. I like Thomas, but I'm worried about his speed. Doesn't seem able to keep up with the burners in the open field
