  • Man, I like your style. You are a good player.....but you cannot get the true tone of any guitar through any amp with a pedal in front of it. I click on your videos in hopes that I will here what a strat truly sounds like through a vibrolux.....but instead I hear what a strat sounds like through an Okko Diablo gain pedal. Those old tube amps do not really need a pedal in front of them. Just please do some demos of guitar straight to amp. Pedals just pervert tone.

  • @curtgenerowe I really can not belive this comment, I made serveral parts with this Guitar, and Part 1 - for instance is a long Video - without Okko... why don't you check that before you write comments like that? I mean.. you can see this Video is titled "Part3" - so, you can imagine that other Parts could be different... check that before... I do that all the time...

  • Your tone is SO incredible on EVERY guitar you play. I just ordered a Diablo because of your videos. Please tell me the new Diablos sound the same as the one you use. on all these videos. What are your setting for this type of smoky blues and on your vibrolux. Thanks in advance from all us "Greg wanna be's"

  • @rjduval Thanks, Okko is set up on 12 everything but gain on 10-11

  • @GregsGuitars Wow, fast reply! Do you use the 9v mode or the high headroom 18v mode?

  • @rjduval 9v mode at home + the high headroom 18v mode on stage

  • Hi Gregg,

don't worry about such unreflected comments such as curtgenerowe's

    ...like your style and sound!!!

    Blues lives forever ;-)

  • @curtgenerowe SRV was playing without pedals, right? Using old tube Fenders... espacially fender amps do need an OD pedal infront as they don't break up at lower volumes. Or take Phil Sayce for instance, he always sets his Superreverb ULTRA clean, so that it doesn't break up at higher volumes and uses all sorts of OD and TS pedals for the dirt. But you are right, that it's good to hear ONLY the amp and the guitar, without anything inbetween ( even if that's only clean sound)

  • @curtgenerowe

I think Greg is using pedals to get a good sound at low level as is playing in his flat like a lot of us. You probably right about these wonderful amps, but if you crank around six, you probaly end up with the cops at your doors !!!!!

    Regards

    Teza.

  • @GregsGuitars Well said Greg!

  • I need a vibrolux

  • the amp sounds great i miss my vibrolux

  • Jo Greg, nice greets ;-)
