Lebanon PA November 3, 2009: Lebanon County Democrats will remember this Election Day--not necessarily for the candidates on the ballot, but because their headquarters was filled with smoke. Paul Heise was sitting inside the HQ making get out the vote phone calls. He has a hard time smelling, and thought his glasses were foggy--until he stood up and saw that it got worse. He realized it was smoke, and called 911. About that time, Bruce Gettle pulled up from taking people to the polls. Fire trucks arrived, and checked for flames. What they found was a furnace malfunction. They placed fans to draw out the smoke, and Lebanon Democrats went back to work.
