Sorry Mr. Poncho, I've been wrapping my headphones around the iPod itself for a long time. It never tangles in my pocket and it never tangles in my bag because I usually have a small pocket in the bag for it so there is little room for tangling. Plus the little plastic thing would just take up more room in my pocket.
