i have just performed the verdi requiem over this past weekend with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. i am a second tenor and i have to say ... when the trumpets come in and the bassists follow then soprano alto and tenor enter was by far my favorite part of the entire performance

I get a goose flesh every time I hear this part - one of the most terrific pieces of music ever written

Sadly the lower voices are drowned a bit by the wind section, but overall I like it.
