Longtime Houston area journalist Jim Becka - KSBJ Radio 15 years - takes a look at a confrontation between a group of Miami preachers and Lamar University student Christians on the Lamar University campus in April, 2008. One group was preaching salvation by works and the other salvation by grace.

Why do so-called "religious" fanatics think they have the right to ram their lifestyle down everyone else's throats? Decent, moral, educated people find the hatred and ignorance inherent in the taliban-like "Christians" greatly deviant, yet they continue to spew their nonsense anywhere and everywhere, regardless of being clearly UNWANTED. Don't get me wrong, some of my best friends are Christian, but they know it's better to keep their lifestyle behind closed doors, and not flaunt it in public.

But, Christians have found the meaning to life, much like researchers may one day find the cure for cancer. Wouldn't you want to share it with the world?

@meypole, it's the Self-Appointed Spokespeople For God who miss the point. Just because they've convinced themselves that the dictates of their religious lifestyle are "right" does NOT mean that anyone else agrees. If someone wants to find out about a particular religion, he will seek it out. But all these aggressive, yelling "religious" people who chase after the uninterested, and demand that they acquiesce to a particular faith, are nothing more than human "spam", that most folks don't want.

@GodCreatesGays2 It would seem that way at times, but I have found many people on the streets hoping someone will stop them and give them hope. Obviously, it would be nice if Christians had insight into which individuals wish to be stopped, but, Christians are not wrong in approaching everyone. It was refreshing for me to find the answer to life at 19 and I wish that someone had shared it with me at an earlier age.
