Monroe Mann - "Rob Lowe (Melody)" - Live at Pete's Candy Store in Brooklyn

July 20th, 2009. The second (of two) songs I played live on stage--the first time in over two and a half years. This was the first time I ever played this song--and I wrote in but one week before this performance after my very first love broke my heart and dumped me. I am really happy with how it turned out. Not only did I see everyone in the audience smiling, but after watching this video (and the other one), I learned two most valuable lessons to improve my performance: a) learn to play all my songs without looking at the fretboard during chord changes, and b) don't let the adrenaline allow me to speed up the tempo (which happened a couple times slightly). The good news: both of these issues are easily fixed with some more practice. And I am SO blown away with how much my voice has improved. AWESOMENESS. ROMP ON! (Video courtesy of Rachel Hill)

HONEST CRTITICISM (not hate): you can sing pretty well, i wouldn't call you a pathetic loser because of this song... BUT that guitar intro in the beginning was very sloppy, there was no timing to it... in the realm of acoustic pop music though, this is a decent song. also the stuff you were saying about going through some crazy shit, i'm sure it's true, but it sounded kind of fake because of the way you were laughing about it. keep playing man!

This one is my favorite and that is personal. I've been there and it was sad, and I didnt write a song with that much life after... So that sounds like a good song for me, and you know what, I am not the only one who lost my first love... so its a good song for a lot of people too I would guess.

Go Monroe! Its Dave lewis-we met at the first Ruff Cutz ... Dude you have talent.. this " critic" is obviously jealous for some reason. In the past I've run into similar unhealthy individuals ....my advise is that addition of a couple more tatlented musicians behind you and make a quantum leap ahead on your way to the success you seek.

Of course, I won't feel bad for you because you know, I'm sure you lead a great life. It takes a lot to stand up on a stage and peform which makes Monroe NOT pathetic, and he's an amateur, he isn't playing on American Idol or America's Got Talent, and as an amateur, he's actually pretty good, it was a bit rough at the beginning, but it ended well
