this antenna was a freaking pain in the ass to assemble screws falling parts going everywhere like how the fuck it this easy installation (had that on the box.) if your impatient like me i don't recommend this product. i hate you RCA i will never buy a product from RCA in my entire life.

if you have one go to big lots and go get an amplafied antena for 10 dollars

ty for the vid

I just put together and hooked up one of these in my kitchen. I have to point out that, if RCA had gone the extra steps of sending it out fully assembled in a longer box, not only would you be paying for the extra packaging, but also for the labor. Adding even a couple dollars to the price of this thing would negate the principal reason people find it attractive -- it's cheap.
That aside, the reception is AWFUL. I wish I'd seen your review a year ago.

@wesclark2009 what do you mean? the review was not bad at all well i liked it anyway

You really need to do some research. Terk and RCA are the SAME company. They're both part of Audiovox. Both brands are decent. Performance with any consumer product will vary depending on the application and environment where the product is used. All combination VHF/UHF antennas seem to pull in UHF better than VHF. With this one, the user needs to be close (10 miles from the tower?) for VHF to work.

LOL, fly that plastic piece of shit back to the store and get your money back. I recommend to get a TERK, you pay a little more but you get alot more, enjoyed your review, pretty funny, by the way, the last negative review I saw was probably from a RCA employee, so I say to him, build better products !)
This comment has received too many negative votes show
you are a fucking idiot! You should not be installing anything, anywhere for anyone. You shouldn't review products either, i've never seen a worse review

I purchased this antenna because of price, in addition i purchased an amplified antenna. This $15 antenna gets better reception than the amplified antenna. It all depends on where you live as to what works best for you.

the design idea is a solid one, a low profile vhf/uhf antenna. my main problem with the implementation of this design is that it is not pre assembled, and the included RF cable is too short. you could get the same performance from an unpowered rca rabbit ears antenna, and at a lower price.

I looked at that antenna, and thought it wouldn't work for me. After trying every type of indoor antenna out there, I had no choice, but to use an outdoor antenna. Luckily my outdoor antenna was still good to continue using it, or I would have had to replace it. At least your review has convinced me to not get it when I move into another hone at a later date.

good, indoor antennas should be the absolute last choice. because of the new digital standard, transmitter power has been turned down, making these indoor antennas even more problematic. one could get a proper outdoor antenna for a couple of dollars more and a little bit of work.
