This is a clip from the fabulous sand (yes, sand) animation by Ben Zelkowicz, done in 2002. The music is Schubert's famous lied, Der Erlkönig [the Erlking].

It has been screened at many festivals, and you can read all about it on the official website:

  • only 44 secons long wtf.

I like this version the best, imagery is great.

    Post the whole song noob.

  • I'm sorry...but the guy who MADE the video (as in, it's how he makes a living) is on here, and I wouldn't do something as asinine as posting the entire thing here.

The clip is from his website, and I put it up to promote the legal distro of it. Sorry.

  • -and it should only be $20 if you say you are buying it for home use. still a lot for 5 minues, i know, but i don't set the price. and i gotta make a living! thanks for watching- in my biased opinion, i don't think the youtube compression (or the Qt at the site) really does the image justice.

  • Ben? You probably don't remember me, but I was at CSSSA in 2003 and remember watching this and being blown away by it, which is why I upped the sample vid from your site on here ;).

    I think $20 is fair, also. I

  • Great! Wish I could see the whole thing. Where can it be found or purchased?

  • Well, the website originally had links to order it, but now they seem to be defunct, so I have no idea.

I'm sorry! Maybe you could email Ben and ask him?
