This is video talks about bass player Red Mitchell's philosophy on super-conscious as a higher state of being where the music flows through the musician and communicates with the audience. He talked about reaching this higher state more often, and staying there for longer. Salishan- (Native American word) meaning: Coming together from diverse points to communicate in harmony.

wow really cool ideas, reminds me of Victor Wooten's ideas he talked about in his book "The music lesson- a spiritual search for growth through music" i recommend checking that out. I too would like to hear more of those notes from your lesson with red!

Marc - you say it so well. Red Mitchell was an exceptional human being. He listed his race as "human" when required to do so. He was a bass and piano player supreme as well as a composer, poet and philosopher. I miss him very much. Kirby
