Good question...I'm pretty sure it could do a spiral staircase. The hardest part might be making the spiral line for it to follow. But once you figure that out manually or with a script, it should be very do-able.

@1000behymos from what I remember, i think you have to have the progressbar.rb in your plugins folder. i'm not sure but that is how i got it to work

I installed it in plugins folder but can't get it to work, and the shape bender icon has no image on it, did I do something wrong? After selecting the component and hitting shape bender nothing happens, I cant select anything I just have the mouse arrow.

I get the start/end yellow hilights, but nothing happens when I hit enter...

@ChrisFullmer There is a helix tool plug in that can draw spirals, quite simple and nice.

I have used shape bender last year adn it was wroking really good. even text was working. but now i have a new computer and when i use the plug in, the cursor does not change to the line selector, it looks like a standard windows cursor. whats going wrong?

Does it matter where the straight or curved line is placed? I'm getting some odd results, with the group/component remaining straight (albeit diagonal) but getting sent off to the side somewhere.
