The soundtrack of the film "Orca" [1977] is one of the most beautiful musical pieces I have ever heard. It just engraved itself in my head the moment I had first heard it, many moons ago. Ennio Morricone is a musical genius, and Orcas are the majesty of life on our planet.

Whistling has been one of my hobbies for a very long time. I do it whenever I hear a melody that inspires me. It can happen anywhere music can be heard: at home, outside, at the store and even at work. Sometimes I go out and listen to birds. There are no better whistlers. So I try to learn from them by listening to and mimicking their melodies. This is a test. It was done in a single take, from start to finish. So pardon the mishaps that you will detect here and there. The higher the register [pitch], the tougher it gets for me. We all have our limitations, and being 41 doesn't help. But I'll keep practicing. This is the first time I share my whistling with the world, and I hope you like it:)

Thank you to YT user PiccoloVegeta [youtube.com/user/PiccoloVegeta] for making the footage available online.

  • I only wish I could whistle as good.

If you get stuck for themes....I would love to hear 'The Lonely Shepard'

from the film Kill Bill....or theme from Braveheart....or Ennio Morricone's

The Ecstasy of Gold....or whatever you like!!! Love it!!!!

  • Can anyone tell me what is the name of the song that plays in Inglourious Basterds will run when the German sergeant with the baseball bat that starts with a whistle?

  • I've never thought I'd say this before but, YOU NEED AUTOTUNE. You were only close to the pitch like 7 times throughout the whole song. How is that even possible?

  • Wow, Benyoucef, you are amazing. I was absolutely captivated by the video and music. It gave me goose bumps! You are incredibly talented!
