@TheLewisExperience Inland Empire and A Clockwork Orange

"Lynch - Kubrick" was in the title of this video, there was no way I wasn't going to click it.
-
@TheLewisExperience The first image is from Lynch's "Inland Empire." :)

@TheLewisExperience i dont know the Lynch film (though it may have been Mullholland Drive, but im just speculating because i know Eraserhead was in black and white and i dont recall seeing that shot in either Blue Velvet or Wild At Heart) and the Kubrick picture (the 2nd) was from 2001: A Space Odyssey

Can anyone tell me what 2 films they've been taken from?

@omnivos Taken from Wiki, Composition: The "rule of odds" suggests that an odd number of subjects in an image is more interesting than an even number. Thus if you have more than one subject in your picture, the suggestion is to choose an arrangement with at least three subjects. An even number of subjects produces symmetries in the image, which can appear less natural for a naturalistic, informal composition.

The furniture and background in both pictures are almost symmetrical but slightly off balance to the left. Nice illusion of depth exhibited through carpet and tile forshortening. The door and the obelisk splitting the room in half. There's definitely some psychology going on here.

Is the first shot from Inland Empire?
