NYPD Bust Chess Players In Manhattan Park

A squad of police officers in bulletproof vests swooped into an upper Manhattan park in New York park and charged seven men with the "crime" of playing chess in an area off-limits to adults unaccompanied by a kid.

It's a good thing these men were not arrested by the TSA. They would have subject to a patdown.

We've been warning everyone for years about the police state walls rising higher and higher. Look at it now, adults aren't allowed to play chess i na public park, how can anyone possibly justify such out of control insanity. The people implementing and enforcing this type of foolishness should be ashamed. TBH, a thousand chess players should march down to that park and represent.

Technically, if there is a kid in the park then everyone is in the company of a child. Aside from that, how is it that only people with children should benefit from the park that everyone's taxes created? How can they redefine public space to exclude the public?
