The Chicago Slim Blues band performs on a low-budget cable TV program in 1980. The late Chicago Slim (Noel Schiff), vocals, harmonica, slide guitar; Bumblebee Bob Novak, guitar; Cadillac Sam Burton, drums; Tom ?, bass.
It never ceases to amaze me how for over 30 years he could never keep a band together. He had such an ego. He could have gone so much farther but calling the executives at Barrel House Records crooks wasn't the best move he ever made. Not only did he kill the deal for himself, but he killed it for all of the other band members as well. What was he thinking? I guess egos like his are the norm in music though. For all you musicians who THINK you're great, read what I just wrote. It effects others.
I knew Noel very well in the 80's. We played pinball in this apartment, went through the pictures of his antique cars, and he took me to his favorite diner in Chicago. Wish I hadn't lost track of him. I have his album Love Me or I'll Kill You.
