  • eedo, are you going to do a polygon hair tutorial? I've been looking online for the last 8 hours and can't find a good one - I'm having issues with getting double-sided alpha hair textures to render properly and nobody seems to be addressing it adequately

  • @CokeSupply

No, sorry. I've never been great with polygonal hair myself.

  • Have you tried or do you have Photoshop?

Just wondering, since I'm considering Photoshop for texturing, but if you tried PS, do you like Paint Shop Pro better?

  • @AETrainingDavid97

I use photoshop cs3 at school. Overall I do prefer Psp9. It's controls are more intuitive, and it does just about the same stuff.

  • When you saved the normal map as a jpg I yelled nooo!!! png all the way, lossless for the win!

By the way, the asymmetrical sculpt looks incredible, its a shame that the capture crashed. Would it be possible to screen cast a brief video of you sculpting in a few of those small skin details with the textures on a plane or a sphere or something? Obviously if you don't have the time its cool since you are putting together this huge tutorial but its something I've always had a bit of trouble with.

  • @rorkimaru Jpg was a mistake, believe me. Once I realized, I went back and saved as targa. :)

Also, I'll try and at least talk over some of my sculpting techniques when I'm just painting in the next few videos.

  • did you quit?

  • @eedobaba7726 Aww OK :( Great work btw ;)

  • man, that copying of the map and just spreading out the extra layer... why didn't I think of that? d'oh! :)

  • Thanks for a great series of tutorials. I'm a noob at Blender and found the tutorials really informative and easy to understand. Here's my head using mug shot images of Vincent Gigante at watch?v=ulFEEitbS0U

  • @eedobaba7727 Haha thanks i figured it out, I didnt have my low poly and high poly on top of each other. they were side by side

  • @enjoiskate11

Make sure you select your high poly, then shift-select your low poly. Then bake the normal map on Tangent.
