How could Jesus Christ be God and a man at the same time?
This is a very difficult question, one that scholars and theologians have debated for centuries. It is also a very important one, for the divinity of Christ is an essential tenet of the Christian faith. While Jesus never explicitly said “I am God”, which might have overwhelmed and confused his followers, he did tactfully reveal his divinity in statements such as "I and My Father are one.”" (Jn 10:30)

  • Jesus is the author of the Bible. In the Old Test He is fully God . APPEARED to Moses Exodus 33:20-23 and said "I am the GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Exodus 3:6). He APPEARED to Abram Genesis 17:1 and said I am GOD ALMIGHTY. Made a covenant with Abram and change his name to ABRAHAM. In the New Test Jesus is fully man. John 1:14 Jesus (Word) became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

  • @pianokid100 Read JOHN 1:1-34 not just the verses u want 2 pick out. God's Word is 2 b read IN CONTEXT...

  • @pianokid100 Read JOHN 1:1-3...

  • @master611 Jesus is the Word that was made flesh + dwelt among us as JOHN 1:1-34 shows. All created human Prophets of God spoke as God the Holy Spirit gave them 2 speak. Scripture gives many examples of Jesus being God. ISAIAH 9:6-7. JOHN 20:2-29. Make the effort 2 do some research b4 u ignorantly state u will contradict Scripture. If u want 2 deny who Jesus is then that's ur choice. Jesus says all must repent+believe in Him. DON'T BOTHER 2 POST ANYTHING 2 ME UNTIL UR ARROGANCE CHANGES 2 WISDOM

  • @The3in1trinity thirdly, assuming that it read "jesus became flesh" instead of "the word became flesh", seeing that it is an allusion to genesis 1, the creation of things, it would still make jesus a created being (not God), as EVERYTHING that exists was made from the word. in the beginning God said "tree" and it produced a tree, yet the tree isnt god since its a product. lastly, assuming your rendering was correct, it would place jesus no earlier than creation. God pre-exists creation

  • @The3in1trinity lets assume that john is correct and that jesus is the word of God (even though thats not what it says. it doesnt say that jesus became flesh, it says that the word of god became flesh/jesus?), that would still make jesus not god as the word of God is a created thing. There is no word before creation. The word of God initiated creation, and God pre-exists the word, and thus the word is not God.

  • @bigwhammyRocks OOOOOOOOR, he never claimed he was God and the gospel of john was not written by the apostle john but rather is an anonymous work? secondly, for the sake of argument, lets say that jesus wrote his own gospel and claimed he was God- that would simply make him a false prophet and would not be new or unique

  • according to loose christian logic, every christian is God. John 17 "that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.". Oh wait, according to John Jesus, every christian IS God. "And you know that the Scriptures cannot be altered. So if those people who received God's message were called God,'" john (not surprisingly) 10:35. Every christian has received the word (jesus) of God right?

  • faulty logic. first of all, every prooftext of jesus being god will only be found in the gospel of john and not any other gospel. ignoring that, jesus saying he is one with the father does not mean he is saying he is the same being as the father. This is easilly proven false (like every other prooftext), by demonstrating other times that "be one" is used, and how it never meant "one entity".. "that all of them may be one"

  • furthermore, in your analogy, the shakespere would have to create a character that is totally differnet than him, adn even give the character a different name than his for the analogy to be proportional. since A. YHWH does not equal jesus and B jesus is a totally differenet character than God with different qualities, aside from a different name. Jesus is not all knowing according to the bible.Jesus is not immortal. Jesus is a human. Jesus doesnt have all authority, Jesus has a god etc.
