LEAD IN (Español):

LEAD IN(English):
Ixtoc, seizes to be the biggest accidental oil spill, federal United States authorities declared. Deepwater Horizons assumes the dark record.

In Cuidad del Carmen the consequences of an oil spill are still alive. 31 years ago, Ixtoc affected the Terminos lagoon and it estuaries, which give the Gulf of Mexico's fish nutrients and nesting grounds.

Although beautiful, the mangroves in the area still do not recover. Local environmentalists fear that hurricanes may bring the contamination of the current BP oil spill.
