On the first exercise, make sure to point the toes up and back towards yourself. On the second exercise, the leg is at 90 degrees, not 45.

As others that have commented here, I have has so much pain like this and today, it was all I could do to walk across the room. I've been looking at a few video's and then I found yours. Painful as it was, I did the exercises and afterwards, I tried walking across the room again. OMG! I was smiling and laughing because this worked so fast for me. "Thank you" isn't hardly enough but, that's about all I have. Now, I'll have to be doing this exercise a lot more. love the hotel room, LOL.

Thank You! I was worried I would never be able to sit again! Even standing and walking were getting bad. After one 'work out' I am already feeling tons of relief. At last an answer. My stomach also thanks you because cutting down on Nsaids will be a wonderful thing.

    I truly, truly thank you!

Good luck , I have been having this pain for abt 9 months and nothing has takin it away , my chiropractor said stand and squeeze buttocks and hold 10 sec and release do this through out the day along with some similar stretches shown here so I'm in the process but night time is the worst and sleeping is agonizing !

Im a freerunner i do jackass gymnastics and have this problem ,

i allmost know fo sure its piriformis syndrom,

but im having it for about 3 months now. they said i must have an hernia and must use diclofenac,

in 2 weeks im going to neurolo-docter and get an MRI of my hip

but i cant do the first practise because i cant stretch my leg..its so bound up..

should i use a muscle relaxer/pain releaver en force these practises?

    is this ever going away?

how much damage gives this muscle-knot ...aaa

I've been suffering for over a year now from bad buttocks pain ONLY when I sit down but this makes everything a torture and I really can't enjoy life anymore.

Nobody knows exactly what I have but your exercises kind of prove to me that I have piriformis syndrome. I started to do these about 10 hours ago and my sitting bone feels "softer" than before (NOTHING every influenced my pain).

The weird thing is that I often did piriformis stretches (and I could really feel it) but they didn't work.

Brett, Thank you so very much for this video! Have been on heavy duty pain killers for 13 years and after doing these exercises... I have had at least a 50% reduction in pain! I am so excited about this. Can't stop smiling!

I had this burning pain in my left leg from by butt down to the top and bottom of my feet. It was milder in the morning but kicked in after 30 min in the car and then got progressively worse as the day wore on.I tried anti inflammatories, Ibuprofen, toridal. Neither reduced the pain significantly or permanently. MRI inconclusive. I got a shot into my butt of cortizone and that reduced the pain (showing it wasn't my back) but wasn't permanent. Stretches and compression to the butt were the trick

Mine too and it went all the way down to my calf muscle, I can't walk normal yet, it's like I have a dead leg, it's hard to plantar flex on my toes...hoping stretches/exercises and time will heal it.
