  • I had the great pleasure of working on the production of this program with R/C Video Magazine, way back in the day. Shot on 3/4", BetacamSP, and 16mm film.

  • Do you still have the original mastertapes for this or any other RC productions?

  • Gotta love the 80's lol. Radical!

  • The first 38 seconds scared me and how does he sit with jeans that tight.? Horrified by that. Oh and I'm so glad I missed having to dress like that to be cool.Thankfully all I had to do was start smoking to look cool. lol NOTE:KIDDY'S I WOULD HAVE BEEN COOL ANYWAYS WITHOUT THE SMOKES,SO DON'T SMOKE BECAUSE YOU MAY ALREADY BE COOL.

  • these 'óld' cars still beat most cheaper cars they make now

  • this is exactly what i was looking for an overveiw of the scene and great footage :) the best rc vid i've scene so far on youtube :)

  • And I thought I was the only one with this video that watched it religiously!

  • Gotta love it.. some great scenes from the greatest of all oval tracks "Lake Whippoorwill, "The Whip"

  • I used to have this video. Kinda corny but is shows some really cool 1/4 scale cars.

  • >>>> sweet... I still have my Team Associated RC500 that I bought back in 1988.... it's the 2wd version with a Novi Rossi gold head engine from the same time period.... dummy me never converted it to the 4wd-2 speed version which were wicked fast for the day.........

  • Rad Maxx here (the guy with the eyebrows):

Glad people liked the video...Shot in the summer of '88, in Colorado and California by RC Video Mag, headed up by a guy named Ken Wells. Producer/editor was Joe Megura, who still lives in Boulder. My on-camera stuff was shot at Bandemere Speedway west of Denver, and Blake's Auto salvage, CO.

Had a ball writing it (coming up with 10-15different ways to say model car),

The junk yard remote vs. radio control scene is waaay cool.

  • Thanks for the video! I Still have this tape in VHS! It was how i got started in R/C in the early 90's!
