@erik6006 I have got a wonderful conspiracy theory about that, having to do with the impending Conductors' Strike of the 1990 festival. Ireland won the EuroV so many times due to the fact that we weren't Britain, and didn't take part in WWII, then we had an immensely moving high quality song like this, and got second.
