Springtime scenes in Huntington, West Virginia, USA.

Also includes a brief visit to Huntington's Kitchen, set up by British chef Jamie Oliver last fall/winter, at the time he filmed his 'Food Revolution' reality show series in the city. The series just had its final air date last Friday, 23 April 2010, on the ABC network in the USA.

Scenes are from downtown Huntington, and include the Pullman Square commercial complex, which houses an up-to-date cineplex, various restaurants, Cold Stone Creamery, Edible Arrangements, Empire Books, Starbucks, etc.; the huge Fifth Avenue Methodist Church; and the Cabell County Courthouse.

A couple of shots were also taken at the Recreation Park in the next-door-neighbor village of Barboursville.

Several pics are of springtime blooms and foliage in the historic Southside residential neighborhood, a suburb of Huntington, where most houses are of historic import, built of brick and dating back to the 1920s, during more prosperous times for the city.

  • Beautifully done! I haven't watched the series, but it is good to visit new places and this looks like a good one to go to.

We have three Huntingtons in England, you must come and use your photographic skills on them!!!

  • @meyerhoff31 Thanks for your kind words. I hope to visit the UK (again) one day - and I'll surely have the camera handy for some lovely shots of the English countryside, Huntington or no! I would be curious to know your opinion on the Jamie Oliver series filmed here in this little lovely town where I reside.

  • Beautiful!! Very well done! I watched Jamie's series and found Huntington a nice town with very nice people. All the best to you all. Greetings from Germany!

  • @NikadoZiriguidum Thanks so much! While I've been a transplant for many years now, truly, some of the nicest and kindest people you can meet anywhere are in this town of Huntington. VIelen Dank Grüße aus Amerika !

  • Thank you for the nice tour. Spring has sprung. I've never been past mid America, but had a friend from West Virginia when I was in the Air Force in the late 50's.Very nice background music also.

  • @Suz71bu You were in the Air Force??? Wow! You are welcome, and thanks for the kind words.

  • good job!

  • @mariandelochs As I said I haven't followed Jamies series (not into cooking) but I know he is very popular and I'm sure he did a good report on your town which looks a lovely place to live. Best Wishes.

  • @evewiemer Yes, it is very pretty in the spring and in the fall! I'm glad I was able to catch the blooms at the right time this year - just a few weeks ago!

  • Huntington is a very nice town and Springtime there is wonderful with all the blossoming trees.
