Just something I did a quite few months ago as a test. Ack... my timing is all over the place... I've got better since. Well some at least. :-D

I had forgot all about it until I came across it again just now so here it is.

Hmmm... it was some time ago...my hair was still rather short!

I took the tune setting from a recording by the well know Liam O'Maonlai from his Rian album.

The Rainy Day seems to be a common enough tune and I have heard now many different variations of it.

About this whistle.

You'll hear people say this and that about Generation "cheapie" whistles. While there can be some issues from the factory they are generally just fine.

I find the Bb nickel particularly fun to play.

:-)

  • I have a generation D whistle and I have been typing up a bunch of whistle players(Good) on youtube for help but none have. It seems that any songs i want to play (From Maddie's moon, Lord of the rings ect.) I am missing a couple more holes at the top and bottom. My whistle has six holes, am i missing any If not how do you get the high and low notes? PLEASE HELP!! I WANT TO PLAY AND DANCE!!!!! lol

  • @TheWarnings6 @TheWarnings6 You have just as many holes as everyone else. 6 for simple system flutes and whistles. Whistles are generally diatonic in two octaves. With a "D" you can easily play in the key of D and G. A "C" whistle will give you C and F and a "Bb" Bb & Eb and so on. You can get other keys by half holeing but it's usually not needed. You can play "lord of the rings" on any whistle. Having trouble getting second octave? There are more than enough notes really! :-)

  • i can do 0:00 - 0:04

    haha

  • @schpeidermann Well that's a good place to start! At the beginning! Keep going! :-)

  • podrias pasarme las notas por favor??? tengo un whistle en Bb tambien..

  • @werkiopelon Lo siento pero no tengo ninguna notas para esta consonancia. Aprendo a menudo sin música escrita. Escuche e intente encontrar las notas.

  • @laughing 1986 there is no sheet music for the exact way I'm playing this. I took the setting from Liam O'Maonlai's album "Rian" and it's not exactly the way he plays it either. I suggest you track down his album well worth it! and learn it by ear from there or from what I've done here. If you need a jumping off point go to the Session.org and search for it. I caution you. What's written there is NOT what I'm playing. It's just bones of the tune. Use your ears! :-)

  • Can you share the sheet music please?

  • Or G major

  • Is there a part in D major?

  • very nice one of my favourite tunes to play on my Whistle
