I look at the blender creations of others and sigh, knowing I can never make anything near as good. Because my awesome PC is fried, I am limited to blending on my SCHOOL LAPTOP. Sporting an Intel Atom, no discernible GPU, and a 10 inch screen, it took me 8 hours to blend a 10 second clip of a cube of mercury hitting a box.

@darklordnorge It's quite simple: imagine you have 60 frames, and 30fps. To display it you will require 2sec. If you have 120frames, it will take 4 sec. So it's playing slower. With more frames you can speed it up by skipping some frames.

@polanpl I thought that :P but how do I slow down the playback?
-
@darklordnorge just render more frames per second.. ;p

@anthoney987654321 if i understand you right, you just need to choose the object and activate obstacle in the Fluid-sim tab.

Why did the splash that shot up threw the middle not go straight up?

No idea, perhaps it's because of rounding errors in the calculations

Wow really cool, how do u make it so theres already a body of water in there? not making it have to fill up first?

I added a box with "Fluid" as object type for the fluid simulation and chose Volume as fill-option.
