Watch our rat, Tinkerbell, give herself a bath in our sink....she is very thorough and after finishing off, she runs back into the safety of my husband's arms. She's one adventurous rat!

  • Rat's are such good pets and it makes me sad that not enough people know it =(

  • @mmissinglink BTW, if you ever come across a mouse on a glue trap, vegetable or nut oil (ie, olive, sesame, safflower, corn, peanut, soybean, etc, etc) is the thing that helps release them from the death-gripping glue. Do not use anything else as other substances may cause severe irritation. But please try to save the mouse if you do find one still alive stuck on a glue trap.

  • Wow, your girl is so tolerant of bathing! You're very lucky. My ratties act like I've destroyed their universe. :(

  • so cute! and she likes the water (:

  • Cute :)

  • Rats are like a drug; once you have them, you can never live without them! The most underrated, amazing pets EVER! Rats ROCK !!

  • Rats r like tiny puppies. Very sociable too. I've had 3. I don't think I will ever get another one tho. They only live about 3 years & by that time I was super attached. It was very hard on me to see each of them go. I have all 3 of their ashes in cedar boxes on shelves now.

  • @debbiebuster Thank you for saving the life of that innocent individual. I have tried just plain water as a release agent in an attempt to free a mouse and it does not work. I have since rescued many mice off of glue traps using vegetable or nut oil (I do superintendent work and have come across mice stuck on glue traps). A person has to be quite heartless to put out a glue trap knowing that the result will always be terror experienced and an agonizing death for the mouse.

  • haha!! wow, she's such a good little girl. :) adorable!

  • @mmissinglink I helped a poor little lizard get off a glue trap, used water and he was fine. I just couldn't watch him die that way. They are helpfull insects, too.

  • @desiv13 they only have one problem, they don't live long enough!

  • @Knaagdierenopvang But their instinct is to lick their paws which will have the soap on and it will be ingested, surely?
