  • I guess I'm a tall guy. 6' 2" doesn't seem that tall these days, but for about 35 years now I've been forced to buy and use guitar straps that are too short. Even after adjusting them all the way "out". Is there a way or a contraption that can give me a couple of extra inches? And hold the "that's what she said last night" jokes.

Go to my Brookwood Leather website and scroll down toward the bottom of my 'special requests' page. If you're in need of a strap longer than that strip you see me holding, you're out of luck. But you should call Guinness Records to come get your photo ~

No problem. I'll go look at their videos.

I sometimes use sheepskin on the underside of my straps. I don't have folded over seams so I don't trim before sewing, I just glue it to the top grain and sew through both. I use shears or an electric hair trimmer to fine shape it after sewing if needed

  • @otaypanky2 Sorry, I was replying to FriggingGriff44 about sewing a sheepskin lining. I wasn't very clear but what I meant was they trim the hair away from the seam allowance before sewing it to the foundation leather.

  • @2JobsStillPoorUSA

if you are referring to cutting a stitching groove, I always do. I may not have for this video, I don't recall. But if you look at the photos on my website you will see stitching laid in grooves. Additionally after stitching I burnish the thread down into the groove, top and bottom.

    Thanks for watching

  • @friggingriff44 Most people clip a seam allowance before sewing.

  • @otaypanky2 Do you not make guitar straps with sheepskin wool on them?

  • @friggingriff44

I'd suggest you google it, I don't know

  • I would love a video or some text about sheepskin lining. Where do you get it? How do you sew it, if differently? Thanks for your help.
