Covers February 8 - 10 which we spent at Napo Wildlife Center in Yasuni NP.
Because this was new for me, and I'm a still photographer first and filmmaker second, there is very little film to show for that bird-abundant stay. The little there is is mostly poor quality due to low light and shaky environment (much time spent in canoe!) but I have cut and software stabilized it as much as possible.
However, some slideshows are inserted.
First from the canopy tower where lots of bird graced us with their presence, but none of them on film. There were also a swarm of antbirds close by on the ground, when we were returning for lunch, and I barely got photographs of them. But they are so COOL and I wanted them included. I had no footage whatsoever down there, so no good soundtrack. Had to reuse the little I had from the canopy tower...
Secondly from the evening canoe trip (trying for zigzag heron and great potoo). There the soundtrack options are more suitable.
Next is along the Napo river bank, with a speckled Chachalaca, a Ladder-tailed Nightjar and a swarm of Dusky-headed Parakeets and Yellow-crowned Amazons. There I filmed too, but it was a frisky river and a motor longboat AND in shadow and the result is so shaky it's impossible to make public. So I use my better photos and use the soundtrack from the videos. For once photo and sound is totally correct!
Last: I put in a photo of the Scarlet-shouldered Parrotlet (from Lick II) because they were small and almost drowned in the sea of Cobalt-winged Parakeets and very hard to find in the film. They're there, but you have to know what you're looking for...
The film also features a photo of unknown Turtles and film of an unknown snake AND a 4 meters Caiman that got riled by Jonas' handsplashing.
The soundtrack everywhere (almost) features Jonas Nilsson, our excellent bird guide.
