It still makes me angry that Daft Punk didn't win best score for 2010. It doesn't make them any less incredible, that some stuck up, tasteless Hollywood sycophants ignored this stunning soundtrack...but talent really needs to be recognized and rewarded, in this world where it's too often overlooked in favour of easily-digested mainstream junk.

I didn't really mean to target that movie specifically, it was more meant as a sweeping statement of how music in general is rewarded and accepted in today's environment. Truly meaningful, original and unique music is often brushed aside to make way for awarding moderately talented people that make a catchy song about their latest breakup or having a good night out.
